What is your Shipping Policy?

What happens if there is nobody to sign for my delivery?

The law requires that with shipments of alcohol, there must be an adult at least 21 years old (with identification), to sign for a delivery. If nobody is home or of age to sign for your wine, two more delivery attempts will be made on consecutive business days. If delivery is unsuccessful on all three attempts, the package will be returned to us. If after three attempts the delivery is unsuccessful, any additional shipping charges will be your (the customer) responsibilty.

We recommend that you provide us a business shipping address to avoid missing your delivery. Orders may be tracked, and their status checked, by using the tracking number sent with order confirmation email.

What is WineontheWay's return policy?

If there are problems with your wine, please call us within 7 days of delivery to report. will arrange to have the package picked up and returned for inspection. Once the package is inspected, we will send out appropriate replacements to you based on our findings.

If you find any discrepancies regarding type of wine and/or vintage you ordered (we do not substitute vintages), please e-mail us at so we can remedy the error.

Why is my state not listed as a valid shipping state on your website?

If your state is not listed on our list of valid shipping states, it is because your states laws prevent us from shipping to your state.

Can I Include a gift note with my purchase sent as a gift?

A gift note can be included using the "gift note" textbox during the checkout process. Alternatively, you can mention it to the sales representative while placing the order on the phone or via e-mail.

Will bottles shipped as gifts include an invoice?

If you place an order and request it to be sent as a gift, then there will no receipt included with the shipment. It will be mailed separately to your billing address.

What is shipping insurance and what happens to my order in cases of loss or breakage?

We personally insure all wine that we ship out. In cases of damage in transit we will replace or credit you back the bottles when applicable.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Can I hold wine without payment?

All orders must be processed and billed when the order is placed.

Do you sell gift certificates?

Gift certificates are available in any denomination. They can be purchased by sending an email to . To redeem the certificates, the gift certificate number must be entered at the check out page when the order is placed.

Does an item being on the website guarantee the quantity that I am requesting for purchase?

Our inventory is updated often and we try our very best to ensure all bottles ordered are in stock. However, there are rare cases when a bottle ordered is out of stock. In these cases we will contact you to remedy the situation and make you happy. If you would like to purchase larger quantities, please send an email to and our wine experts will gladly assist you in making your purchase.

Can I special order a wine not listed on the website?

Yes! We love the challenge of locating hard to find wines not listed on our website. Any special requests for any wines are welcomed. Email or call us anytime and let us know what we can hunt down for you!

What are unpublished deals?

We sometimes receive special wines in very small quantities or at prices too low to publish. These wines are offered by email only. If you haven't signed up to receive our email offers, sign up (here)
