Best Red Wine Wine Rated 90+ Points For Every Budget

Every selection of our 90 point red wine, based on a 100-point scale, has been taste-tested and received at least a 90 point rating by one or more highly respected wine publications. Each year we are continually introduced to more red wine varietals that are discovered by scientists researching the DNA of indigenous varietals throughout the world. Some are better for wine making and others better suited to decorate a trellis. (Read More)

Although there are almost countless grape varietals in the world, the most consumed red wines tend to be fifteen or so that are grown throughout the wine producing regions of the world. With so many choices of both common varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec or something more obscure like Petite Verdot, you can be sure of your selection by browsing the best red wine rated 90+ points to ensure you find the exact bottle you want. Some of the best red wine in the world can be found in our inventory. Choose your favorite varietal and read our very own wine expert's comments to find the right balance of flavors to fit your palate.

2013 Continuum

  • Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Pritchard Hill
  • Napa Valley
  • California
  • Red
  • 750 ml

"Graphite, lavender, sage, cloves and menthol race out of the glass in the 2013 Continuum, a wine that is just as impressive in bottle as it was from barrel. An intensely saline, mineral-drenched wine endowed with serious depth and precision, the 2013 shines with exceptional structural intensity and power, all that despite just having been bottled. In 2013 the Cabernet Franc is way up, which helps give the wine more aromatic top notes as well as greater overall complexity. Simply put, the 2013 is a real knock-out."

2013 Vineyard 29

  • Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Aida
  • Napa Valley
  • California
  • Red
  • 750 ml

"On the valley floor, with an almost Châteauneuf du Pape layer of small stones, is the Aida Estate, one of my favorite vineyards just north of St. Helena. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Aida Estate is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc aged 20 months in three-fourths new French oak. The good news is that there are 800 cases of this magnificent wine, with a somewhat Graves-like scorched-earth, charcoal, burning ember-scented nose, with notes of hot earth, blackberry and cassis fruit. Big, full-bodied, exuberant and rich, this thick, unctuously textured, purple wine should drink beautifully for 25-30 or more years."

"Leading off the wines from barrel, this is inky colored and downright unctuous, with tons of fruit, chalky minerality, full-bodied richness and no shortage of structure."
