2009 Chateau des Roques
Perhaps the finest Vacqueyras I have ever tasted from Chateau des Roques, the 2009 reveals copious black currant and sweet cherry notes intermixed with notions of smoked herbs and earth. Composed of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre aged in foudre and tank, its creamy texture and irresistible personality suggest it should be consumed over the next 5-6 years.
